Privacy Policy

Effective: July 7, 2026 memluv is operated by mConnected LLC ("memluv", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and store it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to Participants (the people whose life stories we help record), Purchasers (a friend or family member who pays for a Participant's account), and Viewers (people a Participant chooses to share their story with).

An account always belongs to, and is controlled by, the Participant whose story it tells. Someone may pay for a Participant's account, but that never gives them access to the Participant's biography or virtual replica unless the Participant chooses to share them. Paying for an account is a billing role only; it is not access.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information — name, phone number, email address, age/year of birth, and preferred language, provided when a Participant is invited or signs up.
• Billing information — if you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details to charge your subscription. memluv never receives or stores your full card number. We keep only a billing record: subscription status, plan, renewal date, the last four digits and card brand as returned by Stripe, and a Stripe customer/ subscription identifier. See Section 5.
• Sharing & connections — if you share your biography, or tell memluv about important people in your life, we store that person's name, their relationship to you, and (if provided) their email address, so memluv can deliver what you choose to share, and any questions they may ask you.
• Voice recordings — voice conversations are recorded as audio (in short segments) and stored privately. We record audio for transcriptions and to generate virtual replicas of Participant, to narrate your biography in your own voice, image, and likeness, including audio or video biographies, and as companion conversationalist.
• Conversation transcripts — the text of what a Participant says and what memluv's AI biographer responds to during a session.
• Photos & videos — images and videos you or your Viewers upload, stored privately, shown to you and the Viewers you choose and to generate virtual replicas of Participant.
• Usage information — timestamps such as account creation and last-active dates, and service-usage counts we use to operate, schedule prompts, and understand product performance.
• Consent records — the date/time and method by which SMS or Terms consent was given.

2. How We Use This Information

• To run memluv's service, website, and applications (the "Service"), including the conversations, and to generate and update your biography and memory records (using the AI providers in Section 5).
• To create, bill, renew, and manage your subscription, and to apply promo codes (via Stripe).
• To send you service messages: SMS story prompts and links (see the SMS Terms & Consent), and email such as sign-in links, receipts, renewal and payment notices, and account/retention notices.
• To let a Purchaser view your biography progress, only if and to the extent you choose to share it with them.
• In the future, with your permission, to generate audio narration of your biography in your own voice from your recordings.
• For security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and support.
• To comply with law and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

3. We Do Not Sell or "Share" Your Data

memluv does not sell or share your personal information, conversations, voice recordings, or phone number, and has not in the preceding 12 months, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA (including "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising). We disclose information only to the service providers in Section 5, which process it solely on our behalf under contract. You control sharing of your own story: you (or someone you authorize) may share your biography with specific Viewers, who receive a private, read-only link you can revoke at any time.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

Text data (accounts, transcripts, biographies, memory records, billing records, consent records) is stored in a Postgres database hosted by Supabase. Voice recordings and media are stored in private storage buckets hosted by Supabase, never publicly accessible. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS. Our providers are located in the United States; see Section 6.

5. Service Providers We Use

Third party service providers process data on our behalf to operate memluv including, to: process conversation text; power our AI biographer and generate biography content; process voice audio to transcribe speech (speech-to-text) and, where used, generate spoken responses (text-to-speech); deliver SMS messages (SMS Terms & Consent); deliver email (sign-in links, receipts, notices); host our database, private storage, and the memluv application; and process payments and manage subscriptions (memluv never stores full card numbers).

6. International Users & Data Transfers

memluv is operated from, and stores data in, the United States. If you access memluv from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

7. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases: performance of a contract (to provide the subscription and service), consent (voice recording, text recording, storage of media files, use of name, image, and likeness to provide the Service; SMS; optional features — withdrawable at any time), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement), and legal obligation (tax and financial-record retention).

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live (including under the CCPA/CPRA and the GDPR/UK GDPR), you may have the right to:

• Access / know & portability — request a copy of your data. You can receive a copy of conversations (your audio and text inputs), photos, and videos ("Your Content") at any time via a verified and compliant request.
• Delete / erasure — request deletion of your account and Your Content. We honor verified requests within 30 days, except records we must retain by law (e.g., Stripe payment/tax records) or that are already de-identified.
• Opt out of SMS — reply STOP to any text; see SMS Terms.
• Withdraw consent — including pausing or disabling voice recording while keeping text-based features; email us and we'll disable audio capture.
• Non-discrimination — we will not deny service or charge you differently for exercising these rights.

To exercise any right, email privacy@memluv.com. We will verify your identity before acting.

9. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When a subscription lapses:

• Your biography becomes read-only — nothing already saved is deleted, and you and your Viewers can still read it.
• Photos, videos, and voice recordings are deleted 6 months after the subscription lapses. (Resubscribing before then preserves them.)
• Your written biography is kept, so a family's story is never destroyed for non-payment.

If you request deletion (Section 8), we remove your data within 30 days. We retain payment and tax records as required by law even after account deletion, and de-identified or aggregated data that no longer identifies you. Retention periods are configurable and may be adjusted with notice.

10. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), private (non-public) storage for recordings and media, access controls, and encryption of sensitive internal state. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and regulators of a breach where the law requires.

11. Children's Privacy

memluv is intended for adults (18+). It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). If you believe a child's information has been collected, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, notify Purchasers or Participants by email or in the app.
